They operate on the principle of a break-beam people counting system. The counter fires out an infrared beam across the path where people will be walking. When it detects the beam is broken (by a person walking past) it registers that as a count.

Now, once it has been established which counter would be ideal for your environment, we need to think about how you are going to be able to view your data. This can be done in a variety of ways.

The options for our Beam Counters are:

• Reading the data from the screen of the unit itself.
• Taking the data from the unit on a USB drive, plugging that into your server, and viewing your data in is raw format or in our reporting suite.

The options for our Overhead Counters are:

• Connecting the counter, with an ethernet cable, to your server to automatically generate your daily, weekly and monthly reports in our reporting suite. You can also export the raw data, if you prefer, to be used in your own systems
• We can also host the service for you, all you then need is a broadband connection on site and you simply browse to our online reporting dashboard
