One of our longest-standing customers, Willows Activity Farm (St Albans), is a family attraction with animals, funfair rides, playparks, and other children’s activities.
They were among the first customers to install our occupancy-counting solution, enabling them to monitor visitor numbers in different zones across the site in real time.
The original setup used two overhead sensors connected to an on‑premises server, with two dedicated live-occupancy LCD monitors fed via the LAN. Staff used these screens to compare available space with each zone’s capacity.
Over time, the ageing on‑premises PC became less reliable.
There was also the risk of it being switched off accidentally, which would halt the counting system.
The live screens could also be unplugged if their power supplies were used for other devices.
As the years passed, the counting hardware also started to age and newer, more capable technologies became available.
As a fully supported customer, Willows Activity Farm was advised by Axiomatic in June 2024 to migrate to our cloud hosting platform. This removed the need for a physical server and significantly improved reliability.
Following the successful migration, in 2025 they took advantage of favourable supported-customer upgrade pricing and replaced their counting devices with the latest 3D Xovis counters for improved accuracy.
