Passing Traffic

Passing Traffic – The term passing traffic refers to the amount of people walking past your site. For example, passing traffic for a high street retail store would be those people walking past the front of the store on the street outside.

Passing traffic is difficult to measure using traditional automated people counting methods (such as beam or overhead counters). It can be measured, however, using WiFi tracking technology placed in the store. This is able to anonymously track the small signals emitted from mobile devices and determine by their strength whether they are in the store, or just passing traffic on the street outside.
